2624 Sqn RAuxAF Regiment is a Royal Auxiliary Air Force RAF Regiment reserve squadron based at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. It was formed in 1979 to assist with the ground defence of that airfield.
The Squadron was formed in 1982 as 2624 Squadron RAuxAF (County of Oxfordshire), as an RAF Regiment Field Squadron tasked with providing ground defence for RAF Brize Norton. In 1998 it re-roled to become a Role Support Squadron that was tasked to support the Air Refuelling Force based at RAF Brize Norton and RAF Lyneham. Then in 2003 it was reformed to be 501 Squadron RAuxAF (County of Gloucestershire), before reforming again in 2013 as 2624 Squadron RAuxAF (County of Oxfordshire).
