The annual RAF Regiment Association Commemorative Service at HM Tower of London will be held on Sun 15 Jul 18.

The following is an update received from SO2 Engagement & Protocol.
Corps Parish e-Notices are currently managed within the FP FHQ at RAF Honington. The future intent is to use social media and websites more widely to update the RAF Regiment family. Corps Parish e-Notices will be phased out with the information passed through social media and/or the RAF Regiment Association network and websites. Veterans in particular are encouraged to be members of the Association in order to receive Corps updates, amongst other advantages.
The 75th Anniversary Special Edition of the Centurion journal will be the last in its current format and funded through/produced by the Centurion Fund (previously the RAF Regiment Fund). This important communications and engagement tool will transition to the RAF Force Protection A9 Office (SO2 Engagement & Protocol) which is exploring new approaches including ‘coffee table style pictorial glossys’ and digital publishing.
The forthcoming Centurion Journal will be the last in hard-copy format and was paid for by subscribers in April 2017, as the annual subscriptions are paid in advance. Association members may; therefore, wish to consider cancelling their Direct Debit subscription payable on 1 April 2018 to Debit Finance fairly quickly as it will likely be initiated the week before to hit the bank transfer deadline. If there is to be no hard-copy Centurion in 2019, the 2018 subscription would be for something not ultimately provided.
The Commandant General’s Commendations will continue to be facilitated through the Force HQ. Submissions from serving members and members of the Association should be sent to: SO2 Engagement and Protocol, RAF FP Fce HQ, RAF Honington, IP31 1EE.
Please see the revised 2018 RAF Regiment Association Calendar as a reminder for members to take action if they wish to participate in any of the events. For any further clarifications needed please contact Frank Xavier.

The RAF Regiment is pleased to announce that the following Association members have received a Commandant General Commendation for 2017. Hearty congratulations to the recipients.
Mrs Julia Smith- Sussex Branch
Diligently work as Secretary for the Sussex branch of the Royal Air Force Regiment Association for the last several years, coupled with you taking on treasurer duties after the sad passing of your husband LAC John Smith (Ret) is a very outstanding achievement. Standing up at this very difficult time to selflessly support the Association is most admirable. I feel that the support you give to so many as well as producing the branch newsletter to such a high standard is fully supportive of a Commendation.
Mr David R Kennedy-Suffolk Branch
Serving from 1955 to 1977 returning to the Corps to be involved in Veterans affairs in 1983, being instrumental in numerous events and activities that lead to the formation of the Royal Air Force Regiment Association. Recently contributed to the success of Felixstowe Council’s event in order to mark the 100th Anniversary of Felixstowe Air Station using knowledge of air displays which was simply outstanding. Being the ‘rock’ to which the Branch has anchored for over twenty seven years and with retirement now in place this Commendation is greatly deserved.
Mr Alan Day- South & West Wales Branch
In 1998 forming the South and West-Wales branch of the Royal Air Force Regiment Association to make it more accessible for personnel who had settled in the area. Working tirelessly, recruiting fifty five members and taking on the roles of chairman, secretary, treasurer and Branch Standard Bearer. For over twenty years acted as area chairman for several branches, networking at branch meetings; including Bristol, and Winterbourne Gunner as part of your tenacious dedication to the service. A truly remarkable feat of support to the Corp and fine display of stamina.
