No. 15 Squadron RAF Regiment – Field Squadron.
No. 34 Squadron RAF Regiment – who specialise in Counter-Unmanned Air Systems.
No. 51 Squadron RAF Regiment – Field Squadron.
No. 63 Squadron RAF Regiment (King’s Colour Squadron) – who perform ceremonial duties whilst also being a Field Squadron

Evolution of Force Protection
On Monday 28 November 2022, the RAF Force Protection Force and Support Forces evolved into the Global Enablement Organisation, part of the Number2 Group. As part of the evolution, the RAF Force Protection Force has split into two distinct Forces, the Air Security Force and the Combat and Readiness Force. 2 Force Protection Wing – based at RAF Leeming
They are responsible for the command and control of deployed activity during contingency operations and prepare assigned capabilities to secure and defend RAF assets. Under its command is:
- 34 Squadron RAF Regiment
- King’s Colour Squadron / 63 Squadron RAF Regiment
- 609 Squadron RAuxAF
3 Force Protection Wing – based at RAF Marham
They are responsible for the command and control of deployed activity during contingency operations and prepare assigned capabilities to secure and defend RAF assets. Under its command is:
- 15 Squadron RAF Regiment
- 2620 Squadron RAuxAF Regiment
5 Force Protection Wing – based at RAF Lossiemouth
They are responsible for the command and control of deployed Air activity during contingency operations and prepare assigned capabilities to secure and defend RAF assets. Under its command is:
- 51 Squadron RAF Regiment
- 603 Squadron RAuxAF
- 2622 Squadron RAuxAF Regiment
7 Force Protection Wing – based at RAF Coningsby
They are responsible for the command and control of deployed air activity during contingency operations and prepare assigned capabilities to secure and defend RAF assets. Under its command is:
- 1 Squadron RAF Regiment
- Air Land Integration Cell
- 2623 Squadron RAuxAF Regiment
8 Force Protection Wing – based at RAF Waddington
They are responsible for the command and control of deployed Air Force Protection activity during contingency operations and prepare assigned capabilities to secure and defend RAF assets. Under its command are:
- 4 RAF Police (Typhoon) Squadron
- 5 RAF Police (ISTAR) Squadron
- 6 RAF Police (Lightning) Squadron
- 1 Tactical Police Squadron
- 2503 Squadron RAuxAF Regiment
- Defence Warning and Reporting Flight Operators
There is also a Specialist Police Wing based at RAF Honington, which is also part of the RAF Force Protection umbrella.
