A new Air Commodore-in-Chief commemorative tablet for His Majesty King Charles III has been installed in the Corps memorial Garden (CMG) at the National Memorial Arboretum. The New Commemorative Tablet For King-Charles III brings the record up to date following His Majesty The King’s announcement of His becoming the Air Commodore-in-Chief (ACinC)for the RAF Regiment. His Majesty The King follows the Corps’ ACinC succession of Their Majesty’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. The tablet was produced and installed poste haste after the Royal Household’s announcement, with the cost of the tablet being met in full by a grant from the Centurion Fund.
Air Commodore-in-Chief is a senior honorary air force appointment which originated in the Royal Air Force and now exists in the air forces of various Commonwealth countries. Appointees are made Air Commodore-in-Chief of a large air force organisation or formation.
