It is with deep sadness to report that former RAF Regiment Warrant Officer Rowland, (Rowley), WATTS, born 5th October 1940, died on 16th February 2021, aged 80.
Rowley enlisted in April 1959, and after initial training, served with various units, and stations including: 37 Sqn (Akrotiri, Sealand, & Upwood, 1959-1962), 34 Sqn (Akrotiri, 1962-1965), 37 Sqn (Catterick, 1965-1966), 48 Sqn (Catterick, 1966-1968), 15 Sqn (Seletar, 1968-1969), 63 Sqn (Tengah, 1969-1971), OCTU (Henlow, 1971-1974), QCS (Uxbridge, 1974-1977), 63 Sqn (Gutersloh, 1977-1978), 26 Sqn (Laarbruch, 1978-1981), DIOT (Cranwell, 1981-1984), QCS (Uxbridge, 1984-1985), 34 Sqn (Akrotiri, 1985-1987), and DIOT(Cranwell, 1987-1989).
Rowley was discharged June 1989. Rowley was a member of the RAF Regiment Association, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol and Bath Branch, and a member of the Association of RAF Regiment WOs and SNCOs.
The funeral was held on the 9th March 2021 at Carleton Crematorium, Poulton-le-Fylde. Our prayers and deepest sympathies and condolences are with Joan, daughter Debbie, son Tony and his grandchildren Bradley, Tia and Alex.
