November sees the 45th Anniversary of the British pull-out from Aden, now part of the Yemen. The Corps had a continuous presence there from the late 1940’s to the final day when elements of UK based squadrons were helicoptered out to HMS Bulwark alongside their Royal Marine counterparts from RAF Khormaksar. The Corps also had an local levy force, The Aden Protectorate Levies during this period and operated well beyond the locality of Aden Town, dominated by its massive extinct volcano. To celebrate this period, we intend to have a special compilation of reminiscences from that period from all our visitors. You don’t need to have been a member of the Corps but special have memories of the Corps and how they operated. Photos would be especially valued if you have them. Drop us an email at MCO@rafregt.org.uk and we will start to build our tribute to the gunners who operated in a harsh barren and unforgiving campaign
