In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the RAF Regt is exercising the Freedom of Richmond at 1030 hrs on 12th May 2017. All are welcome to view the parade. In addition Richmond Town Council have agreed to invite The National Standard and Association Branches to parade their branch standard. However, due to the pace, 120 Beats per minute and the incline along the route and cobblestones, Standards will join the column at an appropriate point prior to passing the saluting dais. Branches that wish to parade their standard must inform the National Secretary by no later than 30thApril. Standard Bearers must be at the forming up point of Nunns Car Park no later than 0900 on 12th May. The NMC will pay travel expenses to and from Richmond for branch standard bearers at the rate of 25 pence per mile. Claim forms can be requested from the National Secretary.
RAF Regt Chapel Re-dedication Service & Reception
On Saturday 13th May 2017, the RAF Regt Assoc is organising the annual Re-dedication of the RAF Regiment Chapel at St Anne’s Church, Catterick Village at 1300 hrs. All serving, ex-RAF Regt members and guests are welcome to attend. The Queen’s Colour of the RAF Regt will parade for both events. Invited and paying guests will attend a reception at Catterick Golf Club at 1430 hrs.
RAF Regiment Association – Election Notice
Calling Notice for nominations of Vice-Chairman, and National Treasurer, AGM 2017
At the 2016 AGM it was announced that the Vice-Chairman, and National Treasurer who were elected on three-year term would have to step down at the AGM 2017. In accordance with the Rules of the RAF Regiment Association, (RoRAFRA) notice is hereby given on, 12th Mar 17, for nominations for the post of Vice-Chairman, and National Treasurer.
Association encourages the widest possible nominations from members. However, nominations must be agreed in advance with intended nominee. Nominees should be full members of the RAF Regiment Association, possess appropriate skills and aptitude for the duties set out in the RoRAFRA of the post holders. All nominees shortlisted will be required, at a later date, to submit a written statement of 150 words (max), declaring their relevant experiences, and the value they will add to the Association’s National Management Committee.
Nominations should be submitted only by completing the slip attached to this downloadable form, and posting it to National Secretary, RAF Regiment Association, 171 Chester Road, Seven Kings, Essex IG3 8PY, to reach by 30th Apr 17.

The 2017 Annual RAF Regiment Chapel Commemoration Service will take place at St Anne’s Church, Catterick Village, at 13.00 on Saturday 13th May 17. The Service should be completed by 14.00.
After the Service, the National Management Committee, on behalf of the Commandant General, invites all Chapel Commemoration attendees to join them for a Reception, which will be held at the Catterick Golf Club from 14.30 – 18.00.
The Catterick Golf Club is located approximately 6 miles away (a 15 min drive) in Leyburn Road, Catterick Garrison, DL9 3QE. The facilities may be viewed on the Club’s website at http://www.catterickgolfclub.co.uk. However, please book only through the National Secretary and not direct with the Golf Club.
The Reception will be for those who have registered their attendance and paid in advance. There will be a charge of £10.00 per person to attend, which is a discounted price for Association members. Non-members, and all those registering after 1st May 17, may also attend at a cost of £12.00 per person.
