Monthly Archives: December 2014
With the New Year fast approaching, I would like to pass on my thanks to our serving personnel, retired colleagues, families and friends for the remarkable achievements of 2014. It has been an incredibly compact year of operational and training outputs, matched by an impressive display of National and International engagement.
I have again been struck by the flexibility and stoicism of our people and the sheer professionalism across all fronts. The speed and efficiency with which the UK re-deployed from Afghanistan is very much a credit to our people, their specialist capability, and the integrated support that we provide to our Service and Defence.
I am sure you will join me in remembering the personal sacrifice, injuries and pressures that many of our people have sustained this year and to offer them our comfort and support. We step forward into 2015 with pride and confidence, broadening our arcs and fully embracing our readiness responsibilities. With clear vision – ‘A responsive, dedicated and lightly scaled Whole Force, able to counter threats to Air Power world wide‘ – and with coherent development objectives, we can look forward to a year of opportunity, investing in the future requirements of our Service. I wish you the very best for 2015 and hope that you are able to make the most of your well earned break, mindful of the great opportunities that lie ahead.
