The National Trust (NT) will be sponsoring a 'RAF Living History Group & Demonstrations - WWII Theme at Belton House, the original Corps Depot from 1942-46, this coming weekend, 14-15 Aug 10. The event, initiated by the RAF Living History Group, has recognized the significance of the venue to the RAF Regt and the Corps assistance was requested. The days will include equipment displays etc. The NT estimates that some 2-3000 people will visit on each day, more if the weather is fine. Serving members of the Armed Forces and current RAF Regt Assoc members will be permitted discounted entry on production of the respective valid Service ID or Assoc (2010-11) Membership Card.
An RAF Living History Group will stage a two-day World War 2 themed ‘Belton Brought to Life’ event at Belton Park), a National Trust property and former World War 2 RAF Regiment Depot (1942-46) during the weekend of 14-15 Aug 10.
Given its historical ties with Belton Park, the RAF Regiment has been invited to participate. The RAF Force Protection Force Commander has designated the event a formal Recruiting & Engagement Event and directed that it should involve both Regular and RAuxAF Regiment Force Element participation.
The RAF Regiment Association will provide a recruitment stand with the historical aspects enhanced with RAF Regiment Museum artefacts. It will be located along the cobbled pathway to the north of the main display area and will have a shop facility with Regt and Association-related items. We hope the Stand will be a meeting point for past, current and potential new members of the Association.
