With dwindling numbers and an aging membership, less enthusiastic about coming out at night, we have stopped our regular third Thursday of the month meetings at the Red Arrow Club. We also are no longer able to get the minimum numbers required for our supper evenings at Flytes Restaurant at Manston.
Notwithstanding the foregoing there is a desire to keep the branch going, not just because we enjoy each others company but in case a sudden influx of ex-Rocks should find their way into East Kent, and so contact remains through our committee, mainly Keith Reyner, President & Chairman, Bill Epps, Secretary and Cyril Claringbold, Treasurer.
We will continue to hold our AGM on the third Thursday of March annually but at lunchtime and at a venue to be agreed nearer the time, though the RAFA Club in Ramsgate is a strong possibility.
We will continue to parade our branch standard at the Broadstairs War Memorial outside Pieremont Park on Remembrance Sunday, joining the town mayor for coffee or sherry afterwards in Pieremont Hall, and then again in July at the Battle of Britain Memorial Event at Capel Le Ferne.
