The Catterick & District Branch Monthly Meetings.
The Catterick & District Branch, conduct thier monthly branch meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of every month - except August - at 19.30hrs in the Catterick Village Social Club - opposite the Angel Hotel Public House. All branch members are welcome to attend.
Branch Meetings.
A reminder to all our Branch Members, that due to School Summer Holidays and other family commitments, The Branch does not hold a monthly meeting in August. This will of course be reiterated in The Branch Monthly Minutes leading upto August.
Communication.
If you have a PC - a computer and you are connected to the "Internet", you can catch up with what is happening with your branch by going to www.rafregt.org.uk Click on the link RAF Regiment Association and the home page will appear on your screens - a Green Page. Click on Branches which will open a drop down window and click on Catterick Branch, click on Branch News and you will have the latest news on your branch.
By reading the branch news page on line, you will be helping on saving YOUR branch funds. If you do not wish to receive a branch news letter, simple contact me and indicate that you are able to go "Online". My details (The Branch Secretary) can be found in the branch committie page.
If you are on line, I would be most grateful to hold your e mail address. My e mail address is: alanparkes57@yahoo.co.uk
Attendance.
This is a personal plea from your secretary. It does not reflect the views and opinions of other committie members or any other branch members. We currently have approx 36 paid up members in our branch. The branch meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month except August and it's for about an hour, maybe 1 1/2hrs. At those meetings are the same regular faces, the stalwarts as I like to call them and three of those "Stalwarts" travel from Pickering, Wetherby and Derbyshire.
What I am trying to get my head around, is the fact that these three members can make the long journey to support "Their Branch", where as those who live local and in the village, for whatever reason - as genuine as it may be, do not wish to support/attend the branch but are quite content to pay their annual subscriptions. Am I missing something here?
I ask of each and every one of you, I implore of you, please attend the branch monthly meetings. Thank you.
AGM of CATTERICK and DISTRICT BRANCH
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Catterick and District Branch of The RAF Regtiment Association, will be held on MONDAY 23rd APRIL 2012 at 20.00hrs in CATTERICK VILLAGE SOCIAL CLUB. All members are encouraged to attend.
RAF Regt Assoc. Spring Social at Nidd Hall.
This years Spring Social is being held at Nidd Hall near Harrogate - for a change, an event being held more or less on our "Turf". The dates are from 11th to 14th May - dates inclusive. Why not go along and enjoy yourselves, there may not be an event like this again on "Our Doorstep".
RAF Regt Assoc Chapel Service.
This years RAF Regt Chapel Commemoration Service will be held in St Anne's Church on the 12th May at 15.00hrs. Standard Bearers are asked to link up with the Parade Marshal - Alan Parkes at 14.00hrs at the main entrance to the Church. It is anticipated that there will be a good attendance as Comrades will/maybe joining us from Nidd Hall. This year, Baroness Harris of Richmond will not be attending due to other commitments in London. The CG, Air Cdre Bray will be in attendance as will our own Chairman of RAF Regt Assoc Air Cdre Drissell. Due to Policing and Road Closure Costs, there will be no march past as there has been in previous years. Also, no buffet/reception will be laid on this year. Finally, we hope that the CG will address us all on what the Corps has been engaged with over the last 12 months.
National Remembrance Day.
This years National Remembrance Day Celebrations will take place on Sunday 11th November UK wide. Our Branch will no doubt, be taking part in local Remembrance Services in Richmond and Catterick Village and I will of course be in London at the Cenotaph Parade. This year, "Our Corps" celebrates its 70th Birthday and it is hoped that the RAF Regt. Assoc. will lead all other contingents off parade at The Cenotaph. Do please try and attend a "Local Parade" or the main event in London.
We will Remember Them.
The Catterick and District Branch Christmas Celebration.
Our Branch will hold it's Christmas Celebration on Saturday 8th December at The Cricket Club in Darlington. More details to follow.
